Before LEDs became prevalent in our everyday lives, an early application was sign lighting, which was our introduction to the new technology. The first products we launched were met with much skepticism and caution. Our CEO, Ron Farmer recalls how tenaciously so many sign people resisted the adoption of LED lighting. “The reaction often sounded like we were asking them to change religion rather than their source of lighting for their channel letters.” What he knew then is what the industry knows now: LED technology would become the standard for energy-efficiency and the primary alternative to traditional lighting systems for signs, but also commercial and industrial lighting.
