Pella Introduces New Innovation – Hidden Screen

By   /

The hassle-free window screen appears when you want it and folds away when you don’t, providing homeowners with a clear view and increased curb appeal.

Pella Corporation debuted its latest product, the Hidden Screen, today, and the firm was welcomed with ecstasy from homeowners.

The Concealed Screen is the industry’s first and only hidden screen for vinyl windows among prominent national window brands, drawing on decades of screen design and innovation.

The screen, which is intuitively designed, appears when you open your window and folds away when you close it.

It is the company’s latest innovation, following the award-winning release of the Easy-Slide Operator hardware solution last year.

“Customers want two things from their screens: keep the bugs out and let the fresh air in,” explains Jenn Tuetken, senior design and insights manager, Pella Corporation.

“What they don’t want is the hassle of cleaning or storing the screen, and they certainly don’t want screens to take away from the aesthetic appeal of their home. Hidden Screen solves all of that.”

Today, over 87 percent of Pella windows are sold with screens, and vinyl windows account for more than half of the entire window market.

“When we look across our product portfolio, we are uniquely positioned to deliver an innovative screen option for our mass-market vinyl windows – Pella 250 Series,” said Jenn Tuetken.

Vinyl windows are popular among homeowners due to their easy maintenance, energy efficiency, and affordability.

Now, the convenience and crystal-clear views Hidden Screen adds to vinyl windows are expected to be another market favorite for Pella.

Launching on Pella 250 Series

The simple to use When the window is closed, the Hidden Screen is not visible, allowing for a clearer view and more natural light into the home.

It remains clean and undamaged since it is hidden and stored away from the elements when not in use. The Hidden Screen was designed to be durable and long-lasting, and it has been tested to 9,400 cycles, which is equivalent to opening and closing your windows once a day for 25 years.

Hidden Screen is currently available for homeowners on Pella 250 Series single-hung, double-hung, or sliding windows at a local Pella showroom, and will be available to pros in late 2022.
