RP Lumber Acquires Stock+Field Farm & Ranch Stores

By   /

R.P. Lumber Co. (Edwardsville, Illinois) has agreed to buy the assets of the Stock+Field family of stores and will begin operations this month under new management.

The stores will keep the Stock+Field name, and the new owners will solicit feedback from employees and the communities they serve as they plan for the brand’s future.

The stores will continue to operate in the farm and ranch space, offering the same products and services that they have for many years to communities.

Stock+Field, founded in 1964 as Big R Stores in Watseka, Illinois, is a premier farm, home, and outdoor retail brand with 25 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

The chain declared bankruptcy in January and planned to close all of its locations.
