Commercial Metals Company Adds Tendon Systems

Tendon Systems, LLC, a major provider of post-tensioning, barrier cable, and concrete restoration solutions in the Southeastern United States, was acquired by Commercial Metals Company.

Tendon’s products and services are employed in a wide range of construction types, including multi-family residential, parking structures, industrial, and high-rise buildings.

CMC’s core offering, post-tension cable, is used in conjunction with rebar in the majority of applications, providing considerable commercial synergy prospects.

Tendon’s revenue in 2022 was roughly $60 million.

“This acquisition further advances our leadership position in construction reinforcement complements our existing position in post-tensioning cable and provides CMC with additional capabilities to serve our customers,” Barbara R. Smith, Chairperson of the Board, President, and CEO of the company, stated.

“Tendon adds valuable expertise, innovative products, and a trusted reputation to the CMC portfolio.”

Commercial Metals Company and its subsidiaries manufacture, recycle, and fabricate steel and metal products, as well as provide related materials and services, through a network of facilities in the United States and Poland that includes seven electric arc furnace mini mills, two EAF micro mills, one rerolling mill, steel fabrication and processing plants, construction-related product warehouses, and metal recycling facilities.
