Hartville Hardware & Lumber Acquires Dutchcraft Truss & Component

Hartville Hardware & Lumber has bought Dutchcraft Truss & Component Inc., a custom truss maker in Minerva, Ohio.

Dutchcraft, founded in 2004, built its name supplying custom trusses to lumberyards and building suppliers across Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. It will keep its name, leadership and current customers.

“Reggie and his team have built something special at Dutchcraft, and we have tremendous respect for what they’ve accomplished,” said Scott Sommers, president of Hartville Hardware & Lumber. “We’re excited to welcome Dutchcraft into the Hartville Hardware family and help build on the success they’ve already established.”

Its 20,000 square foot plant in Minerva handles wholesale accounts for residential, agricultural and commercial construction, with delivery offered within a 150 mile radius.

Reggie Stoltzfus, general manager of Dutchcraft, said picking the right buyer mattered. “Finding the right partner was important to me, especially one who understands the value of our people and the relationships we’ve built over the years,” he said. “With Hartville Hardware behind us, we have an opportunity to grow while continuing to operate the way our customers know and trust.”

Started in 1972, Hartville runs the nation’s largest hardware store, a 305,000 square foot flagship in Hartville, plus stores in Middlefield and Coshocton. The Coshocton store came through its 2024 purchase of Coshocton Lumber.
