Evans General Contractors implements Autodesk Construction Cloud to Improve Project Delivery and Team Coordination

By   /

Evans General Contractors, an international design-build contracting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, has announced the adoption of Autodesk Construction Cloud and the incorporation of the powerful construction management platform into its standard operating procedures (SOP).

Evans teams will use Autodesk Construction Cloud to quickly and easily onboard new employees, maximize coordination among project stakeholders, and reduce project errors.

Evans manages more than 50 projects per year and generates more than $1.2 billion in revenue from offices in the Southeastern United States and Germany.

Evans has significantly increased the size of its team in recent years to meet growing demand across its expanding markets, which include manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare, corporate environments, food and beverage, and distribution and logistics.

With this expansion, the organization needed to develop an SOP with robust technologies to improve project management, team collaboration, and service quality, all while quickly onboarding new team members.

“Our teams work on incredibly intricate projects that require painstaking coordination, clear communication, and seamless collaboration across each workflow,” said Jeff Jepson, executive vice president, and chief operating officer of Evans General Contractors.

“With our workload increasing, we require a construction management platform that effectively connects our teams and data while remaining simple to use, allowing us to quickly deploy it across our expanding teams and projects.

Autodesk Build scales with us, allowing us to maintain and improve our service quality through cloud-based project management, ensuring everyone has access to the information they need when they need it, allowing us to stay in sync and minimize issues.”

Evans chose Autodesk Build, unified construction management and field collaboration solution in Autodesk Construction Cloud, after successfully implementing PlanGrid on multiple projects.

Autodesk Build’s desktop and mobile applications maintain the original PlanGrid solution’s ease of deployment, adoption, and use, allowing Evans to quickly ramp up new employees and projects as part of its SOP while minimizing the technology learning curve.

Evans’ teams can immediately collaborate and maintain a high level of coordination on their complex projects thanks to Autodesk Build’s radical simplicity.

Evans’ move to Autodesk Build also grants the team access to Autodesk Docs, which includes the common data environment for Autodesk Construction Cloud and powers robust analytics capabilities, allowing the firm’s teams to keep project information in one place and make data-driven decisions that reduce project risks even further.

The shared data environment can also be seamlessly linked with hundreds of other technology solutions in Autodesk Construction Cloud’s integration partner ecosystem, allowing Evans to connect its people and data across workflows from preconstruction to closeout.

Evans is also implementing Autodesk Takeoff, BuildingConnected, and TradeTapp to connect its preconstruction teams and data to subsequent building workflows, thereby improving project coordination and delivery.

“Every construction project has its own unique challenges and for teams working on particularly detailed projects such as the micro-labs, cleanrooms, manufacturing plants, and automated logistics facilities that Evans builds, the complexities can exponentially increase,” said Brandon Lacourciere, senior director of customer success at Autodesk Construction Solutions.

“We created the Autodesk platform to make it easier for our customers to work, to standardize collaborative processes, and to enable data-driven decision making. We are excited to continue working with Evans as they innovate and grow their business.”
