On January 16, 2023, the Mendocino Companies completed the acquisition of Utah Wood Preserving (UWP) assets and sections of its affiliates.

The acquisition expands on current activities in the United States.

West, covers the fastest expanding regions, with a strong building materials market. The acquisition enhances service and product offerings for all clients.

UWP’s Woods Cross, Utah, production facility is a well-maintained, highly efficient preservative treating plant on a huge, completely paved site with dry kilns and rail service.

The facility will continue to function as it has for decades.

The asset purchase includes a distribution yard in Denver, Colorado, known as ABS.

Robert Moore, UWP’s senior architect and partner, has decided to work for Mendocino’s Allweather Wood business among many other outstanding UWP personnel.

Robert, who brings substantial insight, has been a pioneer in the forest products industry for over 40 years.

“We welcome UWP employees as colleagues and look forward to working together on initiatives creating opportunities for everyone,” Mendocino Companies CEO Bob Mertz said.
