TAL Holdings Adds Harbor Rental and Saw Shop

By   /

TAL Holdings, one of the Pacific Northwest’s fastest-growing family-owned building material stores, has reached an agreement in principle to buy Harbor Rental and Saw Shop (Harbor Rental).

Harbor Rental, located in Friday Harbor, WA, has been a dependable brand in the San Juan Island community since 1974, offering equipment and tool rentals, small engine maintenance, and lawn mower sales.

“The acquisition of Harbor Rental is a key component of TAL’s growth strategy,” TAL CEO Jason Blair said.

“This acquisition will allow us to diversify our business profile, expand our service offerings, and better support the San Juan Island community. By incorporating Harbor Rental and allocating millions of dollars towards the renovation of Browne’s Home Center, which is also situated in Friday Harbor, we demonstrate our dedication to helping build better communities for many years into the future.”

Harbor Rental has been owned and operated by the Olshefsky family for 36 years with a commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

According to Darren Olshefsky, the current manager and one of the proprietors, “We are excited for this partnership, as it will provide our employees with additional resources and growth opportunities, benefiting all parties involved – employees, customers, and vendors.”

Blair continued, “Harbor Rental, with its strong reputation and dedication to customer service, perfectly aligns with our core values and mission to help build better communities. We are grateful for the trust and partnership of the Olshefsky family throughout the acquisition process.”

Harbor Rental and Saw Shop will formally join the TAL family of enterprises on May 1, 2023, and will continue to operate under the same name.

With this acquisition, TAL now has 30 locations in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
