Do it Best and Orgill Transfer to Online Markets

By   /

Do it Best Corp. and Orgill are making the switch for their spring markets to virtual events.

The spring market event will take place on March 7-19.

“While we had to pivot quickly to move our fall market to an online format, it far exceeded expectations. We posted a strong increase in overall attendance and number of stores participating along with substantial growth in member purchases,” said Do it Best president and CEO Dan Starr.

Do it Best is reviewing opportunities to bring people together from its members, vendors to staff in late spring for a special occasion.

The company will provide more details in early 2021.

The next fall market will take place on Sept. 17-20 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

“We were able to connect with our members on special deals, new products, and training opportunities. With what we’ve learned, we’re looking to make the spring market even better, drawing in more members to lock in all the great savings available,” continued Dan Starr.

Orgill will eschew its spring market with the first of many buying events that will take place online.

The company planned these for the New Year.

The upcoming event is similar to its successful e-Volution online market held in the summer.

It will take place from Feb. 8-19, it will replace the spring market that was supposed to be on Feb. 25-27. Pre-event planning will be held on Feb. 1-7.

“The days of a stand-alone physical event are a thing of the past. We believe that this expanded strategy will provide a platform of support for our dealers, allowing them to efficiently buy products and gain knowledge that will help them grow and strengthen their businesses,” said Greg Stine, executive VP of marketing and communications.

The company will reveal their plans for more online buying and interactive educational events by the first quarter of 2021, which might include a fall market in Chicago by August.

Orgill plans to take “a more dynamic and flexible approach to its physical shows that will incorporate online, live and hybrid events.” The success of both its in-person Dealer Markets and its highly successful e-Volution Online Buying Event served as building blocks for the company’s future endeavors for in-person and online events.
